Water Level Management Plans
These plans are required by DEFRA to be produced for all hydrologically-sensitive Sites of Special Scientific Interest. They describe the existing hydrological regime, assess whether it is satisfactory relative to the interest of the site and specify any necessary measures to achieve the required regime. They are then accepted and signed off by the relevant statutory nature conservation agency and the operating authority. On behalf of the Environment Agency and Internal Drainage Boards we have produced over one hundred WLMPs for important wildlife sites including:-
- Port Meadow, Oxford
- Aqualate Mere National Nature Reserve, Shropshire,
- North Meadow National Nature Reserve, Wiltshire,
- Richmond Park, Surrey
- Wimbledon Common, London
- The River Kennet, Berkshire
- The River Lambourn, Berkshire
- The Inner Thames Marshes, Essex
- Alvecote Pools, Warwickshire
- The River Thames from Maidenhead to Windsor and the Thames Flood Relief Channel.
- The Cotswold Water Park in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.
- Thatcham Reedbeds, Berkshire.
- Pixey and Yarnton Meads National Nature Reserve, Oxon.
- Several sites within the Lea Valley, Hertfordshire and Essex.
